    • Product Description
      • Commodity name: KLD-GM Series High-Voltage Enclosed Busbar System

      Use

      The KLD-GM enclosed busbar system is suitable for AC applications with frequencies of 50–60 Hz and voltages ranging from 3.6 to 40.5 kV.

      Medium- and high-voltage transmission systems with rated currents ranging from 1000 to 6800 A. Their primary applications include:

      1. Electrical connection between the generator and the transformer;

      2. Electrical connection between the transformer and the high-voltage switchgear;

      3. Electrical connection between the AC exciter and the rectifier cabinet;

      4. Electrical connection between the excitation switchgear and the rotor slip rings of the motor;

      5. Electrical connections between the main circuits of other high-voltage equipment;

      Features

      1. This busbar series boasts excellent short-circuit resistance. Thanks to the protective enclosure made of aluminum or low-magnetic steel plates, it can effectively mitigate structural heating caused by eddy currents or circulating currents, thereby reducing the temperature of the busbar enclosure, minimizing electrical energy losses, increasing current-carrying capacity, and decreasing short-circuit electromagnetic forces.

      2. This busbar series features an advanced structural design, and installation and maintenance access ports can be positioned either at the top or bottom of the busbar. For indoor busbars carrying high currents, ventilation louvers can be installed on both sides and at the bottom of the enclosure to enhance heat dissipation and reduce temperature rise.

      3. When the straight length of the busbar reaches 20–30 meters, install busbar expansion joints to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes, and also to compensate for errors resulting from foundation settlement.

      4. To eliminate the impact of vibrations generated during equipment operation on the busbar, all connections between the busbar and equipment are made using copper braided flexible connectors, and rubber pads are installed between the enclosures to absorb vibrations. For the busbar itself, dampers can be added to the system to provide elastic support for insulators and conductors, thereby effectively preventing damage to the enclosed busbar caused by mechanical vibrations from equipment and seismic waves.

      5. The busbar’s heat dissipation primarily relies on thermal radiation. To enhance the heat-dissipating effect, a light gray paint is applied to the outer surface of the busbar to reduce absorption of visible light. Meanwhile, a black paint is applied to the inner surface of the busbar to intensify the radiation of internal heat toward the enclosure and simultaneously prevent corona discharge.

      6. To prevent condensation caused by temperature differences between indoor and outdoor environments in winter, install a partition device at the wall penetration to completely isolate the busbars inside and outside the building.

      7. To increase the allowable temperature rise of busbars and prevent electrolytic corrosion at joints caused by severe atmospheric conditions—such as those along coastal areas exposed to the elements and subject to electrochemical corrosion—while also reducing contact resistance, all connection points are silver-plated. This treatment raises the allowable temperature rise to 65 K, significantly exceeding the actual temperature rise during operation.

      8. To ensure that the busbar’s natural frequency falls outside the frequency range where resonance might occur (for a single busbar, this resonance frequency range is 35–135 Hz) and to reduce the electromagnetic forces acting on the busbar, it is preferable to select insulators of appropriate models, specifications, and strength grades, and to properly determine the span between insulators.

      9. To monitor the temperature of detachable connections, sealed observation windows can be installed at the points where transformers, generators, and switchgear are connected to busbars. Temperature can be directly measured using temperature-indicating labels or remote infrared thermometers. Coupled with an intelligent online monitoring system, this setup enables real-time surveillance of the busbar system’s operational status, greatly facilitating inspection and maintenance work for operating personnel and enhancing the safe operation level of enclosed busbar systems.
